My NEW workshop ‘Reiki and the Chakras’ is held on the second day of the Reiki Level 1 Course. It’s a 3.5 hour workshop, in which you will learn all about the chakras, how to Reiki them, and how to do a chakra balance. You will also get to experience both giving and receiving a full Reiki healing and chakra balance.
Why are the Chakras not included in Reiki Level 1?
Good question! Many Reiki healers use the chakras in their Reiki treatments, and they can definitely add value when treating your clients. However, Reiki is of Japanese lineage, and the chakras come from ancient Indian yogic texts. In Reiki Level 1, I have tried to preserve the original Japanese lineage of Reiki. Therefore, I have separated the chakras out as a separate workshop.
Other Reiki Level 1 courses include the chakras, is this bad?
Not at all! Every Reiki Master will have their own Reiki workshops based on their lineage, and their own personal beliefs. You will need to find what resonates and works best for you. When choosing a Reiki course and Reiki Master, it helps to have a few Reiki treatments with that Reiki healer first. This way, you will get a sense of their energy, and whether or not they are a good fit for you.
What are the Chakras exactly?
Chakras are one part of our energy body. Everyone is made up of energy, and we have 3 main aspects to our energetic body. We have an energy field (aura) that sits about 6 inches outside the physical body. We have chakras (energy centres) that are like spinning wheels of energy. There are 7 major chakra points that run from the crown of our head to the base of our spine. And we have energy pathways (meridians), which run all throughout our body. In Reiki, I mainly use the aura and chakras (meridians are used more commonly in Traditional Chinese Medicine and acupuncture).
Can I just do Reiki Level 1 and not the Chakra Workshop?
Yes, of course! The chakra workshop is not necessary to complete your Reiki Level 1. However, if you are interested in Reiki and eager to learn more, I would highly recommend attending the Chakra workshop if you can. This is not a stand-alone course – it is only offered as an addition to Reiki Level 1. If you have had any Reiki healings with me. I always use the chakras in my treatments. I love the chakras, and I find them so useful in Reiki treatments.
Do you use crystals in the Chakras workshop?
No, I don’t use crystals in this particular workshop. Although I do use crystals in my Reiki treatments, and they do marry exceptionally well with the chakras! Perhaps later down the track, I will offer a crystal workshop! However, right now, there is enough to learn with Reiki Level 1 and getting your head (and energy!) around the chakras too.
